This scheme is an ambitious scheme of the government which provides financial security to farmers from crop loss due to natural disasters and other uncertainties.

What are the benefits

This scheme provides insurance to a variety of seasonal crops, such as food grains, pulses, oilseeds, horticulture and commercial crops. Farmers have to pay a low premium to get their crops insured. In case of loss, farmers can easily make a claim and receive compensation. The insurance scheme also helps farmers to obtain bank loans.
